I think I've got it

Ok, I've re-taken photos for each item in my etsy store. I'm using very pale pastel backgrounds in ivory (pale yellow), green, aqua, purple, and peachy-pink. I'm much happier with these photos because I think that the earrings and necklaces "pop" more than they did with either the white background or the darker, more saturated backgrounds. I think I need to lighten a few more just a little bit, but overall I'm happy. What do you think?

I also think that my pain has turned a corner. It was really, really bad last night and I didn't get to sleep until quite late. Since then it's been well under control. Let's hope it stays that way :)

Overall, it's been a pretty good day. I'm looking forward to actually making some things tomorrow, though - photographing and editing takes a loooooong time.

I love the new softer background! They really show off the beauty of the earrings :)

And I am sooooo glad that your pain is becoming managable.

Are you still off coffee because of your teeth whitening? How did that go? I'm with Vicki here, if it's caffeine that gets you up to function, then caffeine it is!

Love, Mom

I agree that the new colours really enhance your work. The new green is particularly great with the green necklace. The background for the amethyst is coming through quite white to me. To my eye it almost looks whiter( or greyer) than the ruler shot. They are still very good clear shots, but you may want a little more saturation if you want the purple to register as a real colour.

I am also very glad to hear that you are getting your pain under control. I hope Monday is a fun creative day for you.

hi,
yep i love the colours - very pretty! glenna is right about the purple - it shows as close to white.

this may be a peculiar computer graphics effect - i have noticed the same thing when i have used purple cellophane as a filter for digital photography (don't ask!). this doesn't happen with any other colours for some reason. even if it is darkened it turns grey... not sure why!

love,
