Out for a walk

I haven't been going out as much as I used to because of the extra hassle due to the cane and the fact that the sidewalks haven't been clear. Or it's been cold out.  Or I'm not totally comfortable going by myself until we know what's going on. But finally it's warmed up enough that the sidewalks are clear with almost no ice left, and it was warm out, and Ian and I were both able to go out.

So the two of us went for a walk around the neighbourhood this afternoon. I'm getting better at walking with the cane but I've never walked so long with it before. It was a little tiring on my arm. My arm (the one with the hugemungous elbow) takes most of my weight so that I'm not putting weight on the sore hip. I'm also not as fast with the cane as I was before; normally, that walk takes about 35 or 40 minutes and today it took 50 minutes or so.

Even though I was tired and needed a nap when I got back, it was well worth going out and getting some fresh air.
